I teach, but I'm not employed at a school — can I get the teacher tools?

You don't need to work at a school to use the teacher tools in Språki. If you are a private tutor, a language café volunteer, or a teacher who has purchased Språki on your own, we can enable teacher access on your private account.

How to do it

Send us a message from the contact page with the email address your account is registered with, and briefly let us know what you teach. We will enable it manually. The next time you load a page, the Teacher Portal will be in the menu — log out and back in again if you don't see it right away.

What you get

• The Teacher Assistant — the workspace where you create assignments, extract vocabulary from a text, rewrite a text for a different proficiency level, and generate assessments.
• Lesson plans and presentations — ready-made lesson plans and slides you can download.
• Mini-apps — small practice apps that you create yourself and share via a link.
• Teacher Support — the chat that answers your teaching-related questions.
• The teacher guides here in the help center.

What you don't get

Groups. Groups are tied to a school or organization: students must have accounts within the same organization, and the member lists are based on the school's users. A private account does not belong to an organization, and therefore does not have groups.

Without groups, you also don't get the two features created for a group: writing assignments for the class and custom conversation partners that you share with the class.

Your students

Your students need their own accounts. With private access, you share the materials you create in the usual way: mini-apps have a shareable link, and everything else can be downloaded and forwarded.
